Alto Vista Chapel is a small Catholic chapel also known as "Pilgrims Church" that stands on the hills above the north shore of the sea and to the northeast of the town of Noord, on the island of Aruba, 27 km north of the coast of Venezuela. The church, painted on the outside in stark bright yellow, makes it a conspicuous religious monument for people to visit. The present Chapel of Alto Vista was completed in 1952 and stands in the same location as the original chapel, which was built by Domingo Silvestre, the Venezuelan missionary from Santa Ana de Coro, Venezuela, in 1750
Founded in 1890, by Cornelis Eman, Aruba Aloe Balm N.V. is the oldest Aloe Company in the world and one of the first companies to formulate and manufacture aloe-based Skin, Hair & Sun Care products and growing the Aloes at the cosmetic production plant.
We pride ourselves on creating products with a plant that is so prominent in our island’s culture and heritage. Not to mention so unique in its countless benefits. Aruba’s Code of Arms even features an aloe plant in one of its quadrants-nicknamed ‘Island of Aloes’ in the 1920s.
For such a relatively flat, sandy island, the presence of the unusual hills and huge monolithic boulders that dot the countryside are truly an enigma. These remarkable geological formations add aesthetics to the landscape as well as provide excellent vantage points from which to better view the island.
Casibari Boulders Clusters of huge tonalite boulders sit together in an area just north of Hooiberg. This rock formation, unique to the more typical features of the area, inexplicably rises up from the desert soil to create an unusual setting. Some of the boulders weigh several tons and feature peculiar forms.
For thousands of years, pounding waves and strong winds have slowly chiseled away at the limestone cliffs along Aruba’s north coast to create several natural bridges. Before collapsing in 2005, the largest and most photographed of these bridges was the famous Natural Bridge between the Bushiribana gold mine ruins and Andicuri Beach. The remains of this bridge are still a tourist attraction in Aruba, with the adjacent intact Baby Bridge also meriting a visit.
Other gorgeous natural bridges can be found in Seroe Colorado (towards Baby Beach), at Wariruri Beach and near Black Stone Beach where you’ll find unique tripod bridge.
The lighthouse was named after the S.S. California - which sunk previous to its construction in 1910. Perched on a high seaside elevation, the lighthouse has become one of Aruba's scenic trademarks and offers a picture perfect view of the island's western coastline of sandy beaches, rocky coral shorelines and of the beautifully landscaped golf course Tierra del Sol.
Eagle Beach in Aruba is one of the most breathtaking beaches on the island. Boasting the widest beach in Aruba and famous for its pristine and soft white sands, Eagle Beach offers a clear, sparkling Caribbean, ample parking, shaded picnic areas, some huts, and a variety of motorized water sports. Eagle beach won the 2017 TripAdvisor Traveler Award for 3rd Best Beach in the World, and has won many other awards throughout the years.
